Excited does not even begin to describe how I felt about doing these engagement photos. Not only did it give me an opportunity to visit my beautiful alma mater and run around Harrisonburg, VA, but I got to do it with one of my best friends and her fiancé. Nicole and Bret met at JMU, fell in love at JMU, and fell in love WITH JMU. So even though they live in Florida now, that's really no reason to stop them from taking their engagement photos and planning their wedding in the place they love.
So since the three of us all completely and totally adore our school, we had a blast wandering around and revisiting our favorite places like the arboretum, the quad, the kissing rocks, and downtown Harrisonburg.
Since Nicole and Bret live in Florida now, they were enjoying the cooler temperatures and the October leaves. Those palm trees just don't come in enough color varieties.
Check out the "his" and "hers" engagement rings! They both wear one to promote gender equality. I've never even heard of this, but think it's a really cool idea. Doubt my husband would have been up for it though ;-)
This was my first engagement shoot and I think it went really well. I couldn't have asked for better people to do it with or a more gorgeous setting. Plus, engagement sessions let you capture a whole new kind of lovey dovey, excited interaction that is so very fun to photograph. Can't wait for my next one!
