Family wedding, you say? Yes, this is a FAMILY wedding. You don't see those too often and it was a beautiful thing to witness. You've seen Chris and Michelle's family portraits already, but their WEDDING was something else entirely!
Their boys were just as much a part of the ceremony as Michelle and Chris were. I just loved how Michelle's sons walked her down the aisle. And of course in addition to lots of sweet couple pictures, we took a lot of family photos as well. Since, as you may remember, Michelle and Chris were married before, then divorced, and now are reuniting their family... this days was so much bigger than a typical wedding. It was the coming back together of a family. I just can't overstate the magnitude of that. It was seriously an honor to see it happen.
I don't know how I seem to attract the sweetest, most chill couples. But I definitely do. I've shot a few weddings at Tuckahoe Plantation now, and something about that place, the thing that draws me in, clearly draws in my ideal brides and grooms too! It's just a relaxing, cozy, comfortable, BEAUTIFUL place. It's how we wind up with a small wedding like this one that's just perfectly intimate and full of fun. I can photograph a ballroom wedding, but my heart is in these simple outdoor ones where the kids are running around playing football and cornhole and the adults are enjoying drinks and dessert. That's my kind of scene for sure!
It's been such a pleasure getting to know this family all summer long. I had the greatest time taking their family portraits, shooting this wedding, and then helping them design wall art and a wedding album to remember the occasions. I'm thankful we had the chance to connect and that they'll have these photos to remember this special time for years to come!
