The Eaton Family
I'm so excited to share this session today. This family was the winner of my mini session giveaway a month ago, but the night before mini session day, little Emerson came down with a cold. Oh and a cold front also happened to sweep in and give us one of the chilliest days yet. So it wasn't very good timing and we decided to reschedule. I was happy to do that because I LOVE this little family.
Erica and I met in high school. I was extremely shy and introverted all throughout school. I still am, but it was especially intense back then! Erica is literally the only friend of mine who I remember approaching first, by myself, just because she looked like a nice person who had no one to talk to in my ninth grade gym class. She just radiates this genuine friendliness that makes everyone love her. We had fun in gym quoting lines from Shrek (hey, we didn't know then that they were going to butcher that movie with endless sequels), twirling flags in the marching band color guard, and writing funny stories together in our creative writing classes. When she went off to college in Idaho, it seemed SO far away. But still, Erica would show up to many of our friends' yearly get togethers we've been doing since high school.
Now, we're grown up, married, and living about ten minutes apart from each other! It's so nice to see our friendship continue and to see Erica so happy with her new family. Nate is perfect for her and it's amazing that she found someone as genuinely compassionate as she is to share her life with. If his mug looks familiar, it's probably because you've seen him on Richmond's Channel 8 News. Watching him interview people who have often just experienced something tragic or scary, I can see how much he genuinely does care about that person's feelings. You don't always see that in reporters and in fact, it usually seems the opposite to me, someone just reading from a list of questions. You'll never get that impression from Nate. He is super sweet and never forgets the person behind the big story.
I know what you really want to see right now are the baby pictures. I know! I get it. She's the cute one. But hey, I just really like her parents, too ;-)
Sidenote... Emerson doesn't cry. Erica may disagree with me on this, and may have a better grasp of her own child's emotions and daily life than I do. BUT REALLY, I have never seen her cry. Even at an outdoor photo shoot in late November. That's crazy for a newborn right? And smiling for the camera? Even crazier. I can't get over it. Okay. Really. On to the pictures.
This happy child!
The light in this spot was making me so happy.
Mommy/Daddy picture time :)
