Wedding at The Barn at Timber Creek

The Barn at Timber Creek Wedding in Farmville, VA

Oh this wedding. This was such a unique experience for me. I've known Nicole, well probably as long as she can remember. Since I rang her family's doorbell every morning so that I could walk to the bus stop with her older sister and my best friend Kristen, starting at age 10. I went on nearly every Hamlin family vacation with them from then on out and I've literally seen Nicole grow up before my eyes. In fact, she's probably the person I have photographed the most in my entire time as a photographer... she was my FIRST portrait client when I did her senior session long ago. I took some "just because" portraits of her and Stephen when I was filming a promo video for my website. We did the engagement session this past summer. And now of course, the wedding.

The wedding was at The Barn at Timber Creek, a brand new event facility near Farmville, Virginia. I would describe this gorgeous place as a barn/cathedral. It was so gorgeous. You'll be able to tell from the photographs that I was obsessed with the architecture. It was a photographer's dream. And so perfect for this sweet country couple!

One of my favorite things about this wedding was how low key it was. You could tell exactly who Nicole and Stephen are because it was casual but gorgeous and overflowing with fun. Everyone was in such high spirits and you can definitely feel all that joy in the pictures!

Nicole and Stephen are so young and yet they have been together nearly as long as my husband and I have been. They are the epitome of high school sweethearts and it was wonderful to see their fairytale day come true.

Now, I try not to go TOO crazy with all the photos for the blog post, but it was extra hard this time! It's always a little more difficult for me to narrow down pictures when I know these people and have emotional attachment to them myself! But, I did my best. And hey, since this is the only wedding I'm photographing this year, you may as well soak it all up! Oh, and look out, there's actually a shot of ME! Thanks to my mom for yielding my behemoth camera for the sake of getting a shot of me and my bestie! ;)
