You guys. We went an ENTIRE year without new family portraits. Can you believe it? I certainly couldn't. Also, our good friend Andrea Pesce moved so it was a little sad to think we'd have to be photographed by someone new! Haha! But luckily we remembered Stephanie, who is not only the best and had photographed Erik and I years ago... but she is my photographer twin and when I say twin, I do mean twin...
Oh, boy. Where to even begin. Willow is two. "Two, not one" as she would say. I told her she wasn't a baby anymore and since I call her "baby" so much she responded, "not Willow anymore!" Baby is just synonymous with Willow I guess. She really isn't a baby anymore though. She walks, she talks, she has her own ideas. It's a whole different world from where we were a year ago. It's tragic and beautiful and wild and fun.
Technically, not really. She experienced the snow last year, but she was too little to enjoy it. This time around was so much more fun. Willow has become quite the little talker lately, so she actually stepped out into the snow saying "wow" "whoa" "wow." In other words, she was suitably impressed. A+ mother nature.
Reading Willow's 10 month post, I feel like so much has changed in this past month. Like my girl is so much bigger already! Last month she wasn't standing much, but this month it's pretty much all she wants to do. Diaper changes have become a total nightmare because ONLY BABIES LAY DOWN, BIG GIRLS STAND UP! Duh.
As I feel the one year birthday creeping toward us, I get completely swept up in nostalgia and also excitement. I love every second of Willow (now that she's BORN haha) more than I ever thought I was capable of. I knew I'd love being a mom. I knew I wanted a family. I knew this would always be my top priority in life. But I didn't know how much fun it would truly be. Every time I scroll back through my #willowgrowsup pictures on Instagram I marvel in how quickly she's grown and changed, but also how ‘Willow’ she was right from the start. I think of pregnancy, the absolute non-stop rolling and kicking and dance parties, and think… yup that's our Willow. Baby can't stop, won't stop.
